Name:  a) Model Tractor   b) Newspaper clipping

Description:  a) Replica of a Fordson tractor. Fifty Fordson tractors & two furrow Oliver ploughs were sent to Russia in 1922. The tractors were worth $395 & the plows $65 each.

Pertaining to the tractors sent to Russia Smith states: “The AMR, American Mennonite Relief, (forerunner of the Mennonite Central Committee) sent 50 Ford tractors into the Mennonite settlements to take the place of the large number of draft horses that had been stolen or confiscated during the civil war. C. Henry Smith,  Story of the Mennonites  p.320, 1981 .

b) The picture was taken from Der Bote, a Mennonite German language newspaper  published in Canada.  The clipping was published within the last 7 years.

Description:  a) Replica of the 1937 John Deere Tractor once owned by Henry & Sally Dick. The original tractor was purchased in 1949 to farm 200 acres of land located on the N.E. corner of the 4th Concession & Highway 77.

b) The framed newspaper clipping from the Windsor Star recalls the unique sound of the two cylinder John Deere tractors.
