After her marriage to Kornelius A. Toews she did all the sewing for her family.  Her daughters all learned to sew on this machine. The machine was able to handle all fine sewing, heavy material and even leather.

The case is of dark wood with a keyhole on the right side near bottom.  It has ornamentally carved wood corners, painted design on the front/back of the case.  Six larger cracks, several scratches and small hole on top of case when item was acquired.

The machine is black with silver trim.  It rests on wooden platform with worn-off checkered border design and has a hand crank on right side of machine.  There is a silver plaque with coat-of-arms emblem on machine arm.
