It seems that when I ask anyone what their favourite Mennonite dish is, they all say Zwiebach. Last week during coffee time at the Heritage Centre we shared a tray of these freshly baked buns in the traditional style.
Since I’d never had Zwiebach before, I asked for a demonstration. Ernie Neufeld was generous enough to show me how to separate the smaller ball of baked dough on top from the larger ball beneath, and spread jam across each freshly exposed surface. Mmmmm delicious!
